What sets TEMMENTEC apart as a developer and manufacturer of cosmetics?
TEMMENTEC has been developing and producing cosmetic products entirely in Switzerland for over 100 years. As an experienced contract manufacturer, we offer full service along the entire value chain: from formulation and production to filling and packaging. Our customers benefit from Swiss Made quality, regulatory security, sustainable processes, and maximum flexibility.
Which companies work with TEMMENTEC?
Our customers are international brands, start-ups, and trading companies from the cosmetics and personal care industry. We produce exclusively for B2B customers.
How can we start a collaboration?
Contact us by phone or email. In an initial consultation, we will review your project idea and prepare a customized quote for the development and manufacture of your cosmetic products.
Does TEMMENTEC deliver cosmetic products internationally?
Yes. TEMMENTEC supplies customers worldwide with cosmetic products.
Can TEMMENTEC products be labeled “Made in Switzerland”?
Yes. Since both development and production take place entirely in Switzerland, our cosmetic products can legally be labeled “Made in Switzerland.”
Product development & manufacturing
What types of cosmetic products does TEMMENTEC develop?
TEMMENTEC develops facial care, body care, hair care, dermocosmetics, natural cosmetics, and halal-certified products. Our portfolio also includes special solutions and customer-specific developments.
Do you have your own development department?
Yes. TEMMENTEC has its own development department for cosmetic formulations. Our team develops innovative, market-oriented formulas with the latest active ingredients—tailored to your brand strategy and the regulatory requirements of your target markets.
Whether you are developing new products or optimizing existing ones, we support you from the concept phase to a market-ready cosmetic solution.
Does TEMMENTEC already have developed cosmetic formulations?
Yes. TEMMENTEC offers a wide range of proven cosmetic formulations that can be customized and quickly marketed—ideal for private label products.
Does TEMMENTEC have experience with certified natural cosmetics?
Yes. We develop natural cosmetics according to standards such as COSMOS or NATRUE – including support during the certification process.
Does TEMMENTEC offer vegan cosmetics?
Yes. Many of our ready-to-sell cosmetic formulations are vegan. On request, we develop vegan products according to your requirements and support you in obtaining the relevant labels or certifications.
What are the costs involved in cosmetics development?
The costs depend on the project. They typically include product development, including sampling, stability and compatibility tests, challenge tests (PET), and dermatological tests.
What are the minimum quantities at TEMMENTEC?
For standard formulations (ready-to-sell) from 3,000 pieces per item (SKU), for new developments from 5,000 pieces per item (SKU).
What types of cosmetic formulations can TEMMENTEC process?
We process aqueous and oily formulations, surfactants (e.g., shampoos), emulsions (W/O, O/W, complex W/O/W systems), gels (hydro and oil gels), and hot-fill products (e.g., sticks, balms).
Can we provide our own raw materials?
Yes. This requires complete documentation, including MSDS, specifications, CoA, and INCI.
Production processes & packaging
Where does TEMMENTEC manufacture its cosmetic products?
All our cosmetic products are manufactured at our site in Sumiswald (Switzerland) in compliance with the strictest quality and sustainability standards.
What standards does TEMMENTEC meet in production?
We work in accordance with ISO 22716 (Cosmetic GMP), ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SMETA, RSPO, and with EcoVadis rating.
What types of packaging does TEMMENTEC process?
Tubes, jars, cans, bottles, airless systems, atomizers, ampoules, sachets (via partners).
What filling quantities are possible?
We fill units from 1.5 ml to 1000 ml – including canister filling.
Who is responsible for purchasing the packaging for cosmetic products?
TEMMENTEC can take care of the evaluation and purchase of packaging materials. Alternatively, the packaging can also be provided by the customer.
Who designs the packaging layout?
The design is carried out by the customer or their agency. We provide die cuts and advise on legal requirements for cosmetic packaging.
I don't have my own agency – what now?
We are happy to refer you to suitable design partners from our cosmetics network.
Regulatory Affairs & Documentation
Does TEMMENTEC assist with product registration?
Yes. We prepare complete cosmetic documentation in accordance with EU and Swiss regulations and assist with international registrations (e.g., MoCRA, China, Halal).
What safety tests does TEMMENTEC perform?
We offer stability, compatibility, microbiological, and dermatological tests for cosmetic products.
Is a product information file (PIF) required?
Yes. A PIF is required by law for cosmetics in the EU and Switzerland.
Who creates the PIF?
The PIF, including safety assessment, is created by TEMMENTEC.
Scheduling & project duration
How long does a cosmetics project take – from the idea to the finished product?
– With a ready-to-sell formulation: approx. 4–6 months
– For new developments: approx. 9-12 months (including development, testing, registration, production)
How long do stability tests for cosmetic products take?
Stability testing usually takes 3 months.
Sustainability in cosmetics production
What sustainable measures does TEMMENTEC implement in cosmetics production?
Energy-efficient production, ISO 14001 environmental management, RSPO-certified palm oil, recyclable packaging, EcoVadis rating.
Private label & market entry
How quickly can TEMMENTEC deliver a private label cosmetic product?
Thanks to tried-and-tested formulations, we enable a rapid market launch with your individual branding.
What is the difference between private label and contract manufacturing?
Private label means that you can draw on existing, market-ready cosmetic formulations (ready-to-sell) from an experienced cosmetics manufacturer. These can be customized or further developed as required. Exclusive new developments are also possible, which can be marketed under your own brand.
In contract manufacturing, cosmetics are produced based on a formula provided by the customer.
Both models enable companies to have cosmetic products professionally developed and manufactured—depending on the desired scope of development and degree of innovation.

Contact us with your idea. We will check the technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, and economic viability of your cosmetics project.
Is there a designated contact person for my project?
Yes. You will receive personal project support throughout the entire process.
Storage of cosmetic products
Under what conditions should cosmetic products be stored?
Cosmetic products can be stored at room temperature. For long-term storage, we recommend 14–18 °C, dry, cool, and protected from light.
