Since 1 January 2017, new ‘Swissness’ legislation regulates when a product may carry the ‘Made in Switzerland’ designation and the Swiss cross.
The new Ordinance on the Use of Swiss Indications of Source for Cosmetic Products stipulates that a Swiss indication of source requires that a minimum of 60 percent of the manufacturing costs and at least 80 per cent of the research, development and production costs must arise in Switzerland.

Temmentec has been domiciled at the same location in Sumiswald since 1916. We regularly invest in our building and infrastructure, both to meet the quality requirements of our customers and to express our continuing commitment to Switzerland. 100% of production takes place in Sumiswald, allowing our customers to use the strictly regulated and highly coveted claim ‘Made in Switzerland.’
Regional collaboration
We’re at home in the village of Sumiswald and feel responsible for our region as well as the small and medium-sized enterprises based here. We support our location by collaborating with local partners like craftspeople, construction companies, tool designers, etc.
